Hope First United Methodist Church is a growing vibrant and exciting place to meet new people, learn about God, and worship Him with others.
You are welcome just as you are. When you first come in the door you will be welcomed by one of our "Greeters" and handed a bulletin for the service. Let them know this is your first time visiting and they will get you a coffee mug filled with goodies and information about our church. (If they fail to do that...report them to the pastor immediately!)
COME AND SEE
Whatever your week's been like, or your life's been like, whatever you look like--whether you believe what we believe, or even if you vehemently disagree--in the name of Jesus Christ you are welcome at our church.
WHAT TIME IS THE WORSHIP SERVICE?
We have one service that starts at 10:50am. It is a traditional service with organ, piano, and the traditional hymns of our faith. Most Sundays you will find our pastor at the pulpit but there are the occasional Sundays when we have youth or guests bringing the message. We have a Chancel Choir and Handbell choir and during the school year, our Children's choir will sing also.
IS THERE SUNDAY SCHOOL?
Yes! We have Sunday school for all ages. Sunday school starts at 9:45am until 10:30am. Want coffee? We have coffee and donuts before and after Sunday school in our mall area which is located at the center of our church. Of course, we can't guarantee donuts left after SS!
GOT CHILDREN?
We have a staffed nursery for those children infant through 3 year olds. We do have a SS for 3 year olds but some parents like to wait a little longer or at least until they are fully potty-trained. During the service, the children sit with their parents until the Children's Moment time when they will come forward to have a short lesson and then they will depart for Children's Church. We do have a couple of exceptions to when they leave for Children's Church such as Communion Sunday which is the first Sunday of every month and special Sundays like Easter.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Whatever you are comfortable in. We are much more concerned about what's going on inside a person, than what they are wearing outside. Our members will be dressed in various outfits from suits to shorts. Our staff and most of the congregation will be dressed casually. So just come as you are!
WILL I BE ASKED TO GIVE MONEY?
During the service, church ushers will collect an offering. This offering helps support the church. If you are a guest, you should not feel obligated to give, though of course, you are welcome to participate. The offering time is for members and those who consider Hope FUMC their church home.
OVERALL
We are a very friendly and open church. We would love the opportunity to show you the love and care that each and every person receives not just from our church but the love of Christ as well. We look forward to having you visit!
